Baripada, Mayurbhanj: A four-and-a-half-year-old girl who went missing near Bhanjpur Railway Station in Baripada, Odisha, was rescued on Monday and reunited with her family. Police detained a youth in connection with the incident and are questioning him to establish what happened during the period the child was missing.
The girl, identified in reports as Mahi Mahira Soren, reportedly disappeared while playing on the veranda of her rented house in Jamunadeipur Sahi. Her disappearance prompted a search operation by local police and raised concern among residents.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday morning at around 11 am. The child was playing outside while her mother had briefly gone inside to prepare food. When her mother returned, the girl was missing, and her slippers and toys were reportedly found at the spot.
