An active southwest monsoon is expected to keep large parts of Odisha under wet weather conditions till July 26, raising concerns over a rain-soaked Bahuda Yatra across several districts.

The weather office has issued a Yellow Alert for the next two days for a number of districts where thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall are likely.
Districts expected to experience heavy rain include:
- Jharsuguda
- Sambalpur
- Sundargarh
- Keonjhar
- Mayurbhanj
In addition, the following coastal and adjoining districts have also been placed under Yellow Alert:
- Cuttack
- Jagatsinghpur
- Kendrapara
- Jajpur
- Bhadrak
- Balasore
The alert indicates the possibility of localized heavy rainfall, waterlogging in low-lying areas, and temporary disruption to normal activities.
Bahuda Yatra May Be Affected by Rain
The forecast has become particularly significant as Odisha prepares for Bahuda Yatra, the return journey of the chariots associated with the annual Rath Yatra festival.
