The 65th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship 2026 is all set to take place at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar from June 24 to June 28, bringing together some of the country’s top track and field athletes.

637 Athletes from 26 States to Compete
According to information shared by the Athletics Federation of India, a total of 637 athletes from 26 states will participate in this year’s championship. The event is expected to showcase high-level competition across multiple athletics disciplines.
Haryana will field the largest contingent among all participating states, reflecting its strong presence in Indian athletics.
Odisha to Be Represented by 28 Athletes
Host state Odisha will send 28 athletes to compete in the championship. The squad includes notable competitors such as Animesh Kujur and Srabani Nanda, who are expected to strengthen the state’s performance during the five-day event.
AFI Expects Strong Medal Prospects for Odisha
During a press briefing, an AFI spokesperson stated that approximately five to six athletes from Odisha are expected to secure gold medals at the championship based on their current form and preparation.
The prediction highlights growing confidence in the state’s athletics talent as Bhubaneswar hosts the prestigious national event.
