The campaign is designed to connect Anganwadi activities with community participation and awareness around nutrition, healthcare and children’s development.

Three Days of Nutrition and Child-Centric Activities

The first day of the Angan Ka Utsav 2026 programme focuses on nutrition and food-related activities. These include Poshan Pitha showcases and cooking competitions for fathers using locally available ingredients.

The second day features child-focused activities such as games, storytelling and recreational programmes. Children are also being provided locally available fruits, lassi and millet-based cookies as part of the activities.

The concluding day will include discussions about government initiatives and schemes including POSHAN, SUBHADRA, MAMATA, PM-AWAS and ADVIKA.

Focus on Anganwadi Services

The campaign is being organised during Poshan Maah, which runs from September 9 to October 8 this year, and the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, scheduled from September 17 to October 17.

According to officials, around 37.11 lakh beneficiaries and Anganwadi Management Committee members, along with more than 13 lakh children aged 3–6 years, are expected to participate in the three-day campaign.

Alongside the campaign, the state has also announced an increase in the annual clothing allowance for Anganwadi workers and helpers from ₹1,390 to ₹1,500. The revised provision includes ₹600 from the Centre and ₹900 from the Odisha government, with a budgetary provision of ₹22.30 crore.

The Women and Child Development Department has also introduced DIPTI (Direct Invoice Payment & Tracking Interface) for digital verification, payment and tracking of electricity bills at Anganwadi Centres. The system is intended to reduce the administrative responsibilities of Anganwadi workers.

The Angan Ka Utsav 2026 campaign places community participation at the centre of activities aimed at improving nutrition, health awareness and early childhood development across Odisha.
