Electoral Roll Revision Process to Start Across Odisha
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise will begin in Odisha from May 30 as part of the Election Commission’s nationwide electoral roll revision process. The initiative will also be conducted simultaneously in 16 states and 3 Union Territories.
Odisha Chief Electoral Officer R.S. Gopalan shared details about the upcoming exercise during a press conference.
Focus on Electoral Roll Revision
The SIR exercise is aimed at carrying out voter list revision activities across participating regions. Election authorities are expected to begin the process simultaneously in multiple states and Union Territories from the scheduled date.
Officials stated that the exercise will focus on updating and revising electoral records as part of the Election Commission’s routine voter management procedures.
Odisha Among Multiple Participating States
Along with Odisha, several other states and Union Territories will take part in the Special Intensive Revision process beginning May 30.
According to the announcement:
- The SIR exercise will commence simultaneously in participating regions
