A Nandapur Excise Raid led to the seizure of a large quantity of materials used for manufacturing illicit liquor during a joint enforcement operation at Bimariput village. The action was carried out by the Nandapur Excise Department and Nandapur Police as part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal liquor production in the region.
The raid was conducted under the direct supervision of the Excise Inspector of the Nandapur Range. During the operation, officials searched the area and recovered approximately 3,600 litres of jaggery-based fermented wash (commonly known as poch), which is used in the preparation of illicit country liquor.
In addition to the fermented wash, the team also seized around 200 litres of country liquor from the village. The recovered materials were confiscated as part of the enforcement drive against unauthorized liquor manufacturing and distribution.
Joint Operation Targets Illegal Liquor Production
The coordinated operation involved personnel from both the Excise Department and the local police, highlighting continued efforts to prevent the production and circulation of illegal liquor in the area.
Authorities have been conducting regular inspections and raids to identify locations involved in unlawful brewing activities. The seizure at Bimariput village is one of the latest actions aimed at disrupting such operations.
Two Cases Registered
Following the raid, officials registered two separate cases in connection with the seizure. The investigation will proceed under the relevant legal provisions as authorities continue to monitor illegal liquor-related activities.
Officials have not released further details regarding arrests or additional recoveries at this stage.
