The Puri Traffic Control Room has introduced a comprehensive traffic and parking management strategy, focusing on road regulation, surveillance, public convenience, and crowd safety ahead of the grand festival.
Authorities have prepared an extensive system to reduce congestion on major routes leading to the Jagannath Temple and the Grand Road. The arrangements are designed to facilitate easier access for devotees while ensuring emergency services can respond quickly whenever required.
Traffic Monitoring to Be Strengthened Across Puri
A key feature of this year’s plan is the increased use of technology for traffic management. The Traffic Control Room will monitor vehicle movement around the clock using CCTV cameras, while drone surveillance will provide live updates from important locations across the city. These measures are intended to help officials detect congestion early and respond promptly.
Officials have also enhanced communication systems to provide timely traffic information to visitors. Real-time updates on diversions, parking facilities, and alternate routes are expected to improve the travel experience for devotees arriving from different parts of Odisha and the country.
