Thousands of job seekers and teacher aspirants across Odisha have expressed concern after the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) recruitment examination and the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) were scheduled for June 28. Candidates say the overlapping schedules make it difficult for those eligible for both examinations to participate.
Candidates Seek Rescheduling of One Examination
Many aspirants have appealed to the concerned authorities to revise the schedule of either examination. According to candidates, appearing for both tests on the same day is practically impossible and may affect their career opportunities.
The OSSSC recruitment examination covers vacancies for several posts, including:
- Revenue Inspector (RI)
- Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI)
- ICDS Supervisor
- Amin
- Statistical Field Surveyor (SFS)
OSSSC Exam Was Earlier Postponed
The OSSSC recruitment test was originally planned for June 20. However, it was postponed due to administrative reasons following the NEET examination and later rescheduled to June 28.
The revised date has now resulted in a direct clash with the already scheduled OTET examination.
OTET Schedule for June 28
As per the announced timetable:
- OTET Paper I: 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
- OTET Paper II: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
The timing has added to the concerns of candidates who intended to appear for both OTET and the OSSSC recruitment examination.
Aspirants Raise Concerns Over Recruitment Process
Apart from requesting a change in the examination schedule, several candidates have also pointed to repeated disruptions in the RI and Amin recruitment process over the past two years. They believe that frequent postponements and irregularities have created uncertainty for thousands of applicants preparing for these competitive examinations.
Demand for Timely Action
With June 28 approaching, affected aspirants are urging the authorities to consider rescheduling one of the examinations. They hope that an early decision will provide eligible candidates with a fair opportunity to appear for both exams without conflict.
