As part of the revision process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have started visiting households to verify voter information and collect necessary details from citizens.

The initiative aims to ensure that electoral records remain accurate, updated, and free from discrepancies before the publication of revised voter lists.

BLOs Begin Statewide House-to-House Verification

Election officials confirmed that thousands of Booth Level Officers have been deployed across Odisha to carry out the extensive verification campaign. The officers will visit residences, interact with voters, and assist in updating electoral information wherever necessary.

During the verification process, BLOs will:

  • Distribute enumeration forms to eligible voters
  • Collect completed forms from households
  • Verify voter details and records
  • Assist citizens in correcting or updating information
  • Ensure electoral rolls remain accurate and updated

The exercise is expected to cover urban as well as rural areas across the state.

Verification Drive to Continue Until June 28

Officials have urged residents to cooperate with BLOs during the verification process and provide accurate information to facilitate smooth updating of voter records.

Objective of the Special Intensive Revision

The primary objective of the Special Intensive Revision is to improve the accuracy of electoral rolls by verifying voter information through direct household visits. The revision process helps identify necessary corrections, additions, and updates in voter records before the publication of revised electoral rolls.

Election authorities believe the campaign will strengthen the electoral process by ensuring that voter databases remain current and accurate.

Large-Scale Deployment Across Odisha

To successfully conduct the statewide exercise, thousands of Booth Level Officers have been assigned to various districts and localities. The large-scale deployment reflects the Election Commission’s focus on maintaining updated voter records through direct verification and citizen engagement.
