Panic spread across parts of Rayagada town after a shocking firing and abduction incident was reported late Saturday night from Indira Nagar 3rd Line area.
According to preliminary reports, unidentified miscreants allegedly chased a youth identified as Nikhil using a Bullet motorcycle and a four-wheeler before opening fire and abducting him towards the Ring Road area.
Youth Allegedly Dragged Out Before Kidnapping
Reports stated that the youth attempted to escape from the attackers and reportedly entered a nearby house seeking safety. However, the accused persons allegedly dragged him out before forcibly taking him away.
Locals claimed that two rounds of firing were heard during the incident, creating fear and panic among residents in the area.
Police later recovered an empty cartridge shell from the spot during the initial investigation.
