Bhubaneswar, May 8: Odisha has emerged ahead of several other states in census-related activities, with nearly 90 to 95 percent of the enumeration process already completed, according to officials.
Census Directorate Director Nikhil Pavan Kalyan stated that the state has made rapid progress due to early planning and execution of census operations across districts.
Koraput District Records Strong Progress
Officials said Koraput district alone has achieved around 87 percent completion in the enumeration process.
The administration has been focusing on timely data collection and smooth coordination to ensure that census work progresses efficiently across both urban and rural regions.
Early Preparation Helped Odisha Move Faster
According to officials, the Odisha government had started census-related activities much earlier in sensitive and border regions, including Kotia and other frontier areas.
The early preparation reportedly helped authorities avoid delays and improve field-level execution.
Key factors behind the progress include:
- Advance planning in border and remote areas
- Early deployment of census teams
- Better coordination among local officials
- Streamlined enumeration activities
Focus on Border Areas and Smooth Execution
Border regions often require additional administrative attention during census operations. Officials noted that Odisha’s proactive approach in these areas has contributed significantly to the overall progress.
Authorities stated that smooth implementation and continuous monitoring remain priorities as the remaining phases of the census work continue.
Odisha Moving Ahead in Enumeration Process
Government officials believe the state’s preparedness and execution strategy have positioned Odisha among the leading states in census-related progress.
The ongoing enumeration process is considered important for future planning, development programs, and administrative decision-making across the state.
